At MVMTS, one of our biggest goals isn’t just to help you lift more weight in the gym—it’s to help you use your body to do cool sh*t outside of it.
We’re talking about chasing your kids around the park without getting winded.
Hiking up a mountain on vacation.
Joining your friends for a beach volleyball game.
Signing up for that local 5K, just for the fun of it.
That’s what “fit” really means to us—being strong, capable, and ready for anything.
And summer? That’s the perfect time to go out and actually use your fitness.
So Why Focus on Strength in the Summer?
Here’s what we often see:
As soon as the warm weather hits, people want to get outside (understandably).
They go on runs, walks, bike rides, hikes, you name it.
Cardio goes ⬆️
But strength work? It starts to slide.
And while we love seeing our members move more in the sunshine, here’s the truth:
Your strength is what keeps you doing all those things pain-free.
- Strong legs make those long hikes easier on your knees.
- A strong back and core help you carry your kid or toss a cooler across the beach.
- Strong glutes and hamstrings protect your joints while running or playing sports.
- A strong grip makes those cottage kayaks way less annoying to carry 😅
You don’t need to spend hours in the gym—but keeping strength work as part of your routine is what allows you to enjoy everything else you’re doing this season.
Our Summer Programming at MVMTS
That’s exactly why our strength programming doesn’t slow down during the summer—it becomes even more important.
We still keep a balance, of course. There’s always a sweaty finisher or focused cardio day in the mix. But the backbone of our summer training is strength.
We know many of you are getting your cardio outside the gym—so we double down on what’s harder to get on your own:
- Progressive, thoughtful strength training
- Technique coaching to keep you moving well
- A program that makes sense for long-term health and performance
Even if you’re only hitting the gym 2–3x/week this summer, that consistent dose of strength will help you keep the gains you’ve made—and feel even better doing all the stuff you love outside.
