People often tell me how lucky I am to own a gym. And they’re right, I’m incredibly grateful. But here’s the thing most people don’t see: this isn’t a nine-to-five job. Not even close.
Any entrepreneur will tell you owning a business isn’t something you can switch off, and honestly, I wouldn’t want to. Even when I’m not at MVMT Strength, I’m thinking about how to make the experience better, how to support our members, and how to continue building something meaningful for the community. It’s part of who I am.
And while MVMT has grown into a brand of its own, people still see me as an extension of it which means I’m part of the brand too. That’s a responsibility I take seriously, and it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly.
It’s like going to a hairdresser, you’d expect their hair to look good, right? The same goes for me as a gym owner. I can’t just talk about living a healthy lifestyle; I have to live it. That doesn’t mean being the fittest person in the room or chasing six-pack abs, but it does mean showing up, staying consistent, and practicing what we preach.
And it’s not just about workouts. It’s about how I show up for people. Whether someone’s a paying member, joins our free run club, or just drops into one of our events, I want them to feel supported. If you message me on Instagram or email me for advice, I’ll answer. If you stop me after a workout to ask about training, I’ll take the time.
Because I genuinely care. This isn’t about selling memberships or chasing numbers, it’s about helping people improve their lives. And that’s something I feel lucky to be able to do every single day.
Owning a gym isn’t just a job. It’s a lifestyle. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
