We started MVMT Strength 7 years ago, and while I know we’re making a difference in the lives of our members every day, sometimes I forget just how much of an impact we can have on our entire London community. This Christmas Eve, I was reminded of just that.
For several years now, we’ve run our Holiday Accountability Challenge with two goals in mind: helping our members stay active during a busy and often stressful time of year and collecting donations for local organizations like the London Food Bank, Project Hope, and Toys for Tots. This year was no different, and as always, our MVMT community showed up in ways that exceeded all expectations.
While donations for the London Food Bank and Project Hope were picked up by local representatives, I had the honor of personally delivering the toy donations to the Rotholme Family Shelter—an experience that left a lasting impression on me.
On Christmas Eve morning, I loaded up the incredible array of toys you all had donated and headed to the shelter. When I arrived, I rang the little doorbell to be let in and was greeted by the warmest smiles from the volunteers. They were thrilled when I told them I was dropping off toys for the families.
As I began bringing in the donations, I could hear children playing in the distance. At one point, I heard a young voice ask, “Is Santa coming tomorrow?” While I didn’t catch the response, the sound of their playful voices and the excitement in their question hit me hard.
In that moment, I broke down. The weight of gratitude washed over me. I was so moved by the generosity of our MVMT members who made this possible—your kindness created real, joyful moments for these families. I was also overwhelmed with appreciation for the incredible work of the Rotholme Family Shelter, which provides a safe space and works tirelessly to create a holiday experience for those in need.
The moment reminded me of why we do what we do, not just inside the gym but beyond its walls. Fitness is about so much more than physical health; it’s about building a community that lifts each other up and extends that care to others.
To all our amazing MVMT Members, thank you. You didn’t just donate toys; you gave the gift of joy, hope, and togetherness to families who needed it most this holiday season. I’ve never been prouder to be part of this incredible community.
Let this serve as a reminder of the true power of community and the incredible impact we can have when we come together. Thank you for making this season so special, not just for the families at Rotholme but for all of us at MVMT Strength.
Here’s to making a difference together.
